I made a post about my recent approvals, I don't plan to apply for any new cards for a long time...however I'm wondering how long it takes to build up a good relationship with American Express? Im asking because I recently got approved for the Blue Cash Everday card and I'd like to eventually close my Credit One AMEX (5% variant) and get the Blue Cash Preferred card, while keeping the BCE card. I'd like to have both and wonder if I'm looking at 1 year or 2-3+ before building up the relationship enough with AMEX to get the BCP approval while keeping the BCE. If I could get it within the next year I'd close the Credit One AMEX to get BCP but if I need longer with them to build up then I'm fine waiting 2-3 years. Just trying to set realistic expectations for myself.
Any insight into building a relationship with them and timelines are greatly appreciated!

Not sure there's a one size fits all answer to this, it will vary widely depending on your incpme, credit profile, and AMEX's underwriting secret sauce.
I believe that you posted that you've recently gone through an app spree, opening 6 or so cards in the last 60 days. My guess is that based on that, and on your starting BCE CL of $500 that is may take you some time before they'll grant you another card.
If you build a positive payment history with them ( and other creditors obviously ) then over time you'll probably see pre-approvals for other AMEX cards and I think you'll eventually get to where you'd like to be.

Great, I appreciate the response!
You should try for a CLI on BCE around 91 days (was 94 for me). Then at 181 days you can try for BCP but should wait to see a pre-approval and not just cold app it. That's the relationship in a nutshell. You are already in so don't F it up. Also, CredOne is not an Amex card. It only uses the Amex network. Amex probably doesn't even know you have it.

Great advice, thank you!

Given the $500 SL, I might wait even on the initial CLI request (although I am sure that many think "it can't hurt"). But for the bolded bit, Amex knows that there is a creditone card from the credit report, but I agree they may not know, or care, which one it is

You don't build a relationship with Amex. It's a giant machine. They will give you credit if their algorithms tell them to, and won't if they don't. They'll have no mercy if you miss a payment. They prefer people who pay on time and pay fast.

Congrats on the BCE approval.
I'd be cautious with the $500 limit. It may take time to grow it. Having said that, I'd go ahead and use it frequently, right up close to the $500 limit. You'll want to pay it down just prior to statement to keep your utilization in line, and PIF by the payment due date.
My Delta Gold from 2013 was a $2k limit, and I hadn't joined here to know any better, but after just over a year I ramped up the spending close to the $2k, and they bumped the limit to $3k. If you get an auto-CLI, that will be a good indication your star is rising.
I'm not clear why one would want both, so maybe keep an eye out near month 12, for an upgrade offer to the BCP with a decent bonus.

So true. I had a $1k Delta from 2014-2016 that I never got a CLI on... in their defense I didn't use the card all that much but on the other hand I've seen 3x CLI reports from people who rarely used their card.
I filed Ch 13 in 2017 but closed my Amex account prior to filing to keep the bridge open.
In 2022 they gave me another Delta card with a $10k SL... so yeah... not sure what they use for secret sauce but I'll take the 10x CLI after 5 years.

Spending close to the limit and paying off is good advice, thank you. I will definitely utilize it and PIF in hopes of increasing the limit.
