Just tried using the concierge service for the first time to get tickets with my platinum card and was put on hold and told to call back due to high volume. Umm...okay.

There's a 19-page FT thread of customers' experiences. There are occasionally delays, but people report quick service (as far as getting to talk to a concierge, not necessarily having a service completed) most of the time.
Just tried calling again and the wait was longer with the same call back later message. Like I said I've never used it before but I've got to be honest O-2, I'm a little underwhelmed so far. I wasn't expecting to get what I want with the snap of a finger, but Amex is supposed to be a luxury card with luxury service and so far I can't even get a hold of them. I'm not mad or anything but it is making my decision on whether or not to keep this card when the AF is due easier.
Just made a post not too long ago about the amex plat concierge service and people's experiences with it. I hope this isnt a normal occurance!
I am rather surprised by this. We keep the Plat card for a few reasons, but this is definitely near the top. I have called in many times and have never received that message. On top of that, they're usually successful in getting whatever I want. Only once, for a restaurant which I knew was booked two months in advance, did they fail.

I thought that this would be the main reason for paying the 450 AF...not being put on hold by the Concierge...
