Curious if I were to get an AMEX Green, if the MR Express points that I've accrued while having my Zync card would translate into regular Membership Rewards points that I could then transfer to my frequent flyer program, etc?

Yes, those MRE points would become MR Points, you can then transfer them out.
What happens to future purchases on the Zync?
i.e. If I have a Zync, get a green card while also keeping the Zync, and convert my MR Express points into regular MR points, will points earned on the Zync in the future be MR Express points or Regular MR points?

They'll also be regular MR Points.

Just call customer service and tell them you want to combine it. takes a few minutes. This is how i used the zync/green combo.
I applied for the Zync got approved and immediately went for the Green. I did this knowing i can connect the two and i would get all the perks of the Zync with the MR points of the green, since i think i hear the MRE points are not transferable if u close your account(might be wrong), and for sure are limited in use.
I've been an AMEX member since April 2012... I really want to switch to the Green card, but really don't want to wait until April or May to do so. I put $2-4k of spend through my Zync each month, and always PIF well before the due date.
Any chance of a product change without re-applying before 12 months?
App'd for & approved for Zync in April, and SPG in September. Too close to app for Green as well?

AMEX generally won't let you PC from a Zync to anything. You can downgrade from Green ( or Plat, Gold ) to Zync though.
I agree you should just app for a new card, backdating makes it already 1 year old.
