AMEX "member since" differs between card and online....

I was able to change my "member since" date on my card to match my online account (the card said 2011, online stated 1995) - Yahoooooo!  16 year old account with one phone call to AMEX - gotta love it...

A little background - I divorced AMEX in 98 and never looked back until January this year when I app'd for the Zync card and was approved.  When the Zync card arrived it had a member since date on the card of 11, while my online account showed a member since date of 95.  I read past posts on the forum here (thanks!) and decided to call AMEX to see what they could do - it was simple, I just explained the difference in member since dates and the CSR said they would make the correction and send out the new card immediately.  This is excellent news for me since me aaoa is around 4 years; having a 16 year tradeline will help my scores immensely.  Now I'm anxious to add another AMEX account to further help my aaoa but will wait a little bit before I app again since I've only had the Zync for 2 weeks now!!!

Thanks to everyone for the past posts....

Just as an FYI, you probably already had the benefit of the age of the account if your member since date was correct when you logged into your online account.  Not sure if you had checked your reports before calling for the new card, but they likely had the correct reporting and it was only your card that said 2011.  There are other threads on here talking about how the cards are stamped by whatever company Amex contracts with to print new cards, and the date on the card isn't necessarily determinative of anything.

Starting Score: ~500 (12/01/2008)
Current Score: EQ 681 (04/05/13); TU 98 728 (01/06/12), TU 08? 760 (provided by Barclay 1/2/14), TU 04 728 (lender pull 01/12/12); EX 742 (lender pull 01/12/12)
Goal Score: 720

That's correct.  My Amex Green shows member date of 2010, whereas my online account and credit report both show 2001.

Thanks for the heads up Walt.  I only received my card 2 weeks ago so it wasn't reporting yet; I just wanted to make sure it did report 95 as that will really help my aaoa.
