Ugh! So I just checked my balances and noticed I have a $600 credit on my Slate card. That $600 payment was meant to PIF my Freedom card. But when doing bill pay last weekend, I accidentally paid Slate instead (I already had a $0 balance on Slate).
Will Chase allow me to move that payment over to pay Freedom? Or will I be stuck with a $600 credit on a zero rewards Slate card?
Call them and explain what happened. I did this with Capital One before and they were happy to transfer the misallocated payment.
I'm curious as to the answer, so please keep us posted, but I'd guess that calling the CSR is the way to go. Chances are decent that if you explain what happened, they can shift things around for you. Worst case, you balance transfer $600 of stuff from your freedom to your slate, as the slate has no BT fee.
I bought some lights on my RH card and had to return one. Instead of putting the return on RH, they put it on my Amex that had a zero balance. I called them. They wanted to send me a check but I told them just to keep the balance that way as I would be charging on their card again. I think you'll be fine.

IIRC, you usually can't balance transfer for the same lender, so I'm not sure if that would be a possible solution. In any case, I think a CSR would be able to assist on this request.
I have done the exact same thing with my CSP and Freedom. I called the CSR and they switched the payment over to the other card without blinking an eye.
It would be a lot faster to call and see versus posting here and waiting on reposnses that may or may not be valid.
