Why do I always go to this forum
?
I wanted to stay calm and not apply for anything, because I have only 4 credit cards, and two of them are 6 months old (Amex, Discover), and one is 3 months old (Chase). The latter just now increased their CL from a whopping $300
to $900
. I guess if I apply now for Alliant, this will make the other ccc nervous. But this savings interest looks so good! I haven't seen anything like that in a while! And the checkin account yields the same if you just set up a monthly deposit. Cool!
I'm getting weak... Although I fully expect to end up with a crappy CL once again, even with Alliant.
hehe i am on the same boat i am waiting for the statement to update, hopefully when my util drops from 24% to 1% i will hit the 700 club and i can apply for Alliant

This thread is giving me a headache . . . . ![]()
On March 25 I applied with Alliant and was denied because they said Homeland Security required that I have a single address when in fact, I live in an extended stay hotel (and have since 2003). After several attempts to resolve the issue, including having the manager write a letter, certifying my tenure here, they finally said that if I would get one of my children to write them a letter, saying they knew me, they would let me in.
Of course I said no and asked to have the application cancelled. But, after reading all the great things about this CU I decided yesterday to give it one last try. So, I called and got a really nice CSR who ressurected my application and told me they had decided that if I could produce a utility bill to that address, they would approve me. Yesterday I bellied up to the bar, gathered the information and sent them a cell phone bill that does come to my street address instead of my PO Box.
LET ME IN, IT'S-ME-AGAIN . . . .
Finally, today I was able to use Skybranch, because the PIN of my debit card arrived. My accounts were all there, and I could see that the new credit card is not a mirage
. Let's see when this one will show up.
Just one question, though it doesn't relate to the credit card: My main reason to apply with Alliant was their savings account. Did anyone of you push in a larger sum from an account at a different bank, and did that work okay?
