AmEx was so nice for no reason

i went to pay my balance on my green (left my wallet at home one day and i always keep that in my glovebox as a back up just for those instances) but i wasn't enrolled in the pay by app function. i called in to enroll and make my $2.15 payment and the lady said "don't worry about making that payment. i will just give you a $3 credit for being such a good cardholder and never being late on your payments"

i know it's a small gesture and only $3 but it's the principle i found to be pleasant. so thank you for that small gesture, AmEx!

Yeah now they'll probably report it to the credit bureau as a "writeoff"
