Amazon Prime Card

I am thinking of apping for this to get the 40 dollars off a pair of sunglasses I am purchasing, but I was wondering if I app and want to request a CLI immediately do I start a chat through the amazon website or synchrony?

Thru synchrony.  Do you buy a lot off of Amazon because just a one time purchase isn't worth the HP

Oh then it's a great card for you to have (considering it myself) though I know people prefer the SM and Discover cards for Amazon as well.  Nonetheless, you can call Synchrony and ask for an immediate CLI.

I don't know.  Maybe I'm wrong but I thought I've read that people use Discover for Amazon.  Maybe it's when they have quarterly deals. I do use my Sallie Mae for Amazon but it's capped at $750 per month and I've gone over that a couple times.

Re: Amazon Prime Card

Right now Amazon is on the 5% category for Discover. And if you got in on the double cash promo, it would be 10% back with Discover.

Correct, plus Discover is linked with Amazon so if you have rewards dollars on your card you can use those towards a purchase.

Make sure your promo offer is still a $40 gift card.

Mine was also $40 for what seemed like ages, but a few weeks ago I noticed the offer seemed to not be there any longer (I still have the $70 offer for the Chase Amazon Visa, which I don't want).  Last week an offer finally reappeared, but only for $20 off, and today I noticed the offer is now down to $10.  My spending 'comes and goes', so to speak, so I guess they've changed my offer accordingly.  If it goes back up to $40 (I hope it will around the holidays) I'll probably app for the card myself, since I'll need a way to get a discount once the Discover 'category' savings are over.
