Who can spend 30-50k on Amazon?!?! That's what I want to know especially considering it's not the Chase Amazon but the Amazon store card.
It's not about spending $30 - $50K, it's about keeping your utilization down if you were to spend $3 - $5K. I had $4,600 of charges at one time on my Amazon card last year. Killed the utilization. After I paid it off, I went and asked amazon for a CLI- nope.

Yeah but a 30-50k limit doesn't have much bearing on your credit scoringhow can someone reasonably spend that amount on Amazon?
Gotta know how to work the system.
Max Amazon Card to 50k for a downpayment.
Car loan for the rest.

It sounds like you're moving in the right direction though with thinking things out a bit more than some. Amazon is always an option down the road with the Visa version through Chase once your scores come up a bit and your file thickens up a bit more.
Back to Disco though.... it might be another secured but, if you time it right they might both graduate at the same time and Disco has been known to POP when it converts and some even see a significant bump to 2-3K.
I just don't want to see you go down the rabbit hole with store cards and then have to ditch them later on because they're useless and don't grow or fit into your portfolio anymore.
Thanks Austin. You're right..and everyone else. I guess the only one who got denied by Discover went on an ap spree which is what I don't want to do.
My TU score will update for free at the end of the month. I'm hoping that paying BOA in full before the statement cuts again gives me another jump. It's all I can do really. Since Discover pulls TU, I'll wait until then and will update how that goes.
They can also pull EX when they're reviewing things for an approval. I opened with EX and all of my CLI stuff has been TU based on the score in the online account. Paying things down should give you a pop in the score but, it depends on when they actually report it to the CRA's. Patience is the key to this game called credit
ugh, lol
Maybe if I get more impatient then I'll just check the reports myself first to see where I stand. Lol.
There's a ton of free resources to keep an eye on things.....
If you have a Synch based card you have a TU fico 08
If you signup with www.creditscorecard.com/registration you get your EX 08
Credit Karma of course is good for a quick snapshot weekly of TU/EQ
Quizzle is TU every 90 days
cardmatch offers a TU monthly
credit.com is EX every 2 weeks
credit sesame
lendingtree has a monthly TU
And there's more than that if you dig around some. You can always pull your full reports with annual credit reports for free but you don't get a score.
I have had the Amazon Store Card (Synchrony Bank) for several years, I got it a year after Chapter 7 BK, my CL is $800 and they dont' raise it often, I think I was $600 originally. I have paid it off several times to no avail. You can request a CLI increase on the site, but I have had no success in getting an increase and my FICO scores are mid to high 600's currently.
