I would add that if the OP has a Capital One account that could help (can't believe I just typed that but whatever). Havng done two balance transfers with them, they are really quick in sending the payment and the bank will usualy receive it within a day or two. I did it once to send a payment to Chase and another time to send a payment to Amex. Again, pretty fast. Don't know about other banks though but yes, I think 17 days would be plenty of time.
