I had applied for and gotten and American Blue cash every day and bam got $8,000.00 credit line. Now the big surprise, I got the card this morning and went on line to set up card and notifications. Final step welcome John Member since 1986. Back in the day I had a big job and spent $$$$ monthly using American express. So long ago I didn't remember when why I got rid of it. Question, do you think they'll be reporting the age of account as 1986 oR Today's date??
Also I've seen here they are very liberal with credit lines. Do you think I should request an increase if so when.
Thanks

Sorry, but it's just cosmetic. The card and online account will say 1986, but the data reported to the bureaus will indicate an opening date of 2016 for the new card.
Backdating was eliminated about a year ago.
My wife's applied for her Platinum just before the cutoff date but it didn't first report until after the cutoff so it wasn't backdated.

Limits and CLI's depend on what one's credit profile and income qualify for with any creditor. Some creditors may have easier criteria than others but even those with easy criteria aren't just going to hand out high limits and CLI's to those with credit profiles with issues. Don't just rely on the creditor for limits.
Read the AmEx 3x CLI Guide. 60 days is no longer enforced but the rest of the guide is valid. It should be the first Google hit for "3x CLI".
No, I got excited when I saw that also.... They even put it on one of my cards but it is not back dating to the CB. As far as CLI, I dont know i've hard of others getting one right away. I waited and was able to get mine but maybe someone else can answer thaat question. I dont think that there is any harm in asking.
Congrats on teh approval. While the member since date on the card might be backdated, they will not report the backdate to the credit reports. Amex stopped doing this early last year.
Hi there OP,
I have removed your cross post on this from the approvals forum. Please refrain from cross posting in the future it leads to confusion by the members and its against our TOS. I thank you for your understanding on this.
It is just the website. The card will most likely not be backdated. They stopped backdating in 2015.
