DoC is reporting that the Ameriprise Amex Platinum card will no longer have the first year AF waived, and will instead offer a 60k MR bonus.

In the past the Ameriprise version of the Platinum card was a good option for someone who was on-the-fence to be able to give the card a try, but it appears that's a thing of the past.

I'm glad you steered me in the right direction a while back @CreditCuriosity before the changes took effect, so big shout out to you on that
Thanks for posting this @UncleB btw. It was a matter of time before they clamped down. Me thinks I'll go for Schwab Platinum next time, just needs a higher SUB 😁😉

If the Schwab ever gets a higher SUB I'll have my GF be all over that.

Looks like they've disabled the link for the Ameriprise Gold Card as well since it's no longer featured on the Ameriprise website (unless folks can still apply over the phone).
Well, glad I got that one last month (insert name here...AmEx 'ho' 😄) before they got rid of it. Not a bad SUB for low spending and waived AF for the first year.
I see you havent been sleeping much... I take a few months off and this is what happens lol.. Bought a new car recently waiting for old loan to disappears as new one is showing as well so my DTI is not looking to good although scores are the highest ever.. Been held hostage till my other loans shows paid off

Sleep? Who needs sleep? It's your fault
I became weak and AmEx dangled those carrots and since you provided some good insight on the two, welltthere you have it. So, yeah. I guess I was fortunate to get them while it was still lucrative plus you know how wonderful I can be at gardening
And, congrats on the new wheels!! What ya get?

+1
I doubt I'll ever have a need for a Platinum, but if I ever decide to exit the MR ecosystem a Schwab Platinum is my path to do so.
