If you read the fine print on the offer it is one 10 dollar credit at each retailerperONLINE account not card account. You log intoyourAmexonline banking to use the feature. Therefore if your cards are all linked to the same account I do not think you'll be getting more than one refund.

Yeah, I agree that the fine print does read that way, but folks on the travel and 'miles' websites are reporting some success in getting it to work as long as different cards are used, so it's a little up-in-the-air right now.

Also, some folks have each card on a separate online sign-on, which should be expected to work regardless.

In my case, my second purchase was only $10 (I have two Amex cards), and I would have made it eventually anyway, so if I end up with only one freebie that's OK.

The good news is, at least in a few days, we'll know for sure  Smiley Happy

Well, it's been "a few days", and the verdict is in... it does work for for multiple cards using the same online login, at the same merchant.  I got a $10 credit for buying an AT&T reload card at Newegg using my Green card, and I got a $10 credit for buying a Papa John's gift card at Newegg using my BCP.  Smiley Very Happy

The credits posted to my accounts two days after the purchases did.  Keep in mind, the offer is also good 'per merchant', so if you happen to shop at any of the other places this is a really good deal.

Sadly for me, the other merchants don't sell anything I usually shop for.  Smiley Sad

I went to TickerMaster to see if they had any of the 'donation' $5 tickets left, but they are all showing "sold out".  It's all over some of the other "miles" websites, so I guess folks have already bought them up.  Of course the promotion still has a bit longer to run, so there's always a chance TickerMaster will once again have tickets for under $10.  Honestly, if it's for charity, I don't even care if I get a profit, it's still for a good cause.  Smiley Wink

Best part is getting 2 times the credit by having an AU use the offer.  Wonder if I can get cards for my 4 dogs quickly.

Anyone found a working link for the TicketMaster offer? My PRG comes up for cancellation on 8/1 and I would like to take the benefit before that.

+1

I called myself looking all over the TicketMaster sight for anything, even $5-$8, and found nothing.  I don't mind getting less back, especially if part goes to charity.

Maybe somebody else will have something.  If not, it's always possible in the next few weeks another 'donation' event will be offered on TicketMaster.  Smiley Wink

wonder how mad Amex is going to be when they see how much this cost them Smiley Happy.  Spend 40 cents and make $9.60 per card / au

They have smart people working for them, and they know their cardholders tend to be pretty smart as well, so something tells me they not only aren't surprised by this activity, but they might even intend for it.

If you think about it, we're the perfect beta-testers for the Amex Checkout; they are 'greasing out wallets' so if a bug comes up nobody is going to yell too much.  Relatively speaking, for a large company it's actually a fairly inexpensive and very effective 'stress test' to their new feature.

I'm just speculating here... however, years ago I got to help do a 'stress test' on an electronic service, and all beta-testers were strongly encouraged to use the fool out of it (which ran up a bill they covered), up to and including even trying to 'break it' if possible.  It seemed like a pricey test to me, but I was reassured that the experience was invaluable for the company.  Possibly American Express feels the same way?
