Amex A/R Soft Pulls

I've just noticed that about three months ago I got an "Amex Account F/R" soft pull on my credit profile. Do many other Amex card holders get this...I see them running back on my file to 2005? I've been a card holder since late 2004. Interesting....

F/R or A/R  any creditor can and does run and AR - account review- soft on your credit file.  NEver heard of an F/R soft.  I have heard many people say that just before the  dreaded F/R they see AR softs but more than likely Amex's AR softs are generated by triggers.  Did a balance suddenly go up?  Did you open a new account around this time?  Those are just two of the things that will generate Amex to do a soft on you not just the dreaded F/R

Interesting - I think I got paranoid and thought I saw F/R...but it was A/R (thanks). To answer your questions there was no abnormal account activity on or before 10/1 when the A/R was pulled: no CLIs, no increased or decreased utilization, etc.

However, I did open a new amex a week after that, but since it was a week after, I'm assuming it didn't serve as a trigger. Amex seems to have done 3 A/Rs over the past year - hmmm....

It doesn't seem that any of my other creditors have done the same...interest company.

Re: Amex F/R Soft Pulls

In that case its perfectly normal.  Banks normall do A/R pulls to gauge your current credit standing.  This helps them decide to increase your CL on your current accounts....Breathe!!!!Smiley Very Happy

Re: Amex A/R Soft Pulls

I see soft pulls when I get my reports straight from the CRA (e.g. Experian and Equifax are the ones I request full reports from directly). You won't see soft pulls vis-a-vi Truecedit.com, creditsecure, or the other 3rd party ones.

And 3rd party includes the reports you get with your myFICO scores (so no softs on these.)

AND straight-from -the-CRA includes your freebies from annualcreditreport.com, since those do in fact come from the CRA; you just log on through acr. (it has only taken me a month and a half to figure this out!)

Only EX softs can be viewed if you're using Creditsecure and here's how.

1.) Refresh or view your current report

2.) next click on the dispute information at the top of the screen

3.) next click on the link highlighted in blue, Experian Online Dispute

4.) next a new window is opened asking you to confirm your current address, maximize this  window then click the submit button

5.) the next page appears and click on the blue highlighted link, requests for your credit history.

You will be able to view all hard and soft inqs on this page

Re: Amex A/R Soft Pulls

If your AMEX soft is from El Paso, TX or Ft. Lauderdale, FL then don't worry, if it's from Greensboro, NC then you can start to worry and hope your tax returns were in order! Smiley Happy
