Hi all, long time lurker....
Woke up today to an auto increase on my BCP from 13K to 16.9K. Of course I'm thrilled they like me that much, but also a little mad they beat me to the punch.... I was saving that increase for an expected jump in credit score the end of the month and was hoping for a bit more. Does the auto increase start the 181 day clock on my Amex Everday card now too? I wish they liked me enough to take me out of welcome bonus purgatory instead.
Welcome @Junebugged
I broke the post BK rule with no CLI's until the BK falls off. I got a auto CLI. Nice. Next day I went for it and asked. Got another CLI. Went from $1000 to $4500 in 2 days. So for DP sake. Give it shot tomorrow. Let us know how it goes.
Yeah, +3 on trying anyway. For me, auto increases have never interfered with requests. 181 day timeline stood regardless of auto increases.
Ok, I did go ahead and try it. It got denied but recent CLI was not the reason. (Only reason stated was debt to income, which I forgot, was why I was waiting for my BoA card to report a paid off large purchase at the end of the month to begin with. I'll hit it again in 91 days.

Congrats on your auto CLI! Agreeing with what was already said, you might as well go for the additional CLI request. You really have nothing to lose. I believe if YOU requested the limit increase, you'd start the clock. However, there has been data points recently of AMEX relaxing the 181 day rule (including myself).
Not relaxed for me. Last month I recieved a CLI via chat. Bumped from 16 to 20k. This morning I got itchy and hit the luv button only to recieve a message about my recent CLI. Guess its a 6 mth wait for me. But hey, its Amex and its all good ![]()
