Yes, Midland is the collection agency. They say I owe $669.00, closed my account almost three years ago. They reported this last month on all three CBs. I had no success with a dispute on Transunion and EX is still pending. Whats weird is that it says on my CRs that it should fall off in 2019, which is in 5 years not 7. You're a sweetie, I'd appreciate the help.
Mines is $669.00..... Uh oh I'm in trouble
This one is a big one-$669.00 :/

If I'm not wrong, you don't really have to worry about collection accounts that are <100 dollars. I forgot the exact reasoning behind it, so hopefully others can chime in.
. The $65 paid collection certainly hasn't hurt me. It is just the only baddie I have and I don't like seeing it on there.
Collections less than $100.00 doesn't hurt your Fico score supposedly, but an underwriter or loan specialist might question it to the point of loan denial. Maybe that's why I got approved for an Amex card with a $45.00 parking ticket collection. Who knows....
Swapmeet...If you paid it that long ago, I would DV that old $65.00 collection. I hear that SOMETIMES, if you paid off a collection, the collection company doesn't care to respond to the dispute because they already got paid....and the collection will come off your credit report if they don't respond in the 30days they are given
I had Midland Funding on my CR...I'm glad they are gone....

You don't really have a basis for recon. That recent derog that led to a denial is still an outstanding issue on your credit. Until it is removed or sufficiently aged you really don't have much, if any chance, of approval whether through the application or recon process.
@EmmyWannabeOrman wrote:I saw Amex approvals with baddies, with no credit history, and even Citi cards being approved with baddies.... so confused!
The age of the derog matters. Definitely do not app with recent derogs. App when your credit is in good shape.

I've done that. They verified it then added a note on my cr that says "customer disputes after resolution."
There are TONS of Midland threads here. I had two accounts with them....I DV'd, filed CRA disputes, BBB complaints, and CFPB complaints. It took about 3 months, but both accounts were removed from EX and EQ and the most recent one remains on TU ($200 verizon wireless--PIF to Midland). Midland is tough to deal with, they wouldn't do PFD with me, I simply think they got tired of hearing from me and gave up. Best of luck!!! Make sure you check out some of the Midland threads; good reading..lol
