I've had a BCP for two months, and my experience with earning reward dollars has been odd, so I wanted to check here and see whether this is normal or not.
After my first statement closed, none of the reward dollars I had earned were available, so I called in and spoke to a CSR. That CSR told me rewards aren't available in the first 45 days that an account is open, but that I should recieve my rewards for the first and second billing cycle with my second statment.
My second statement generated today, and I still had a $0.00 reward balance, so I called in again. The CSR I spoke to today told me that the first CSR was incorrect and that there is always a two month delay on earning reward dollars, such that those earned during my billing cycle that closed in December will be available with my February statement, those for the billing cycle that just closed this month will be available after my March statement, etc.
This is my first Amex card, so I don't know how they usually operate. For those that have a BCP, or just any Amex, is this their usual system with rewards? I know that CSRs are often not well-informed, and I'm sure that Amex is no exception, but I wanted to check before I pursued anything further with them.

I'm not sure if it's 45-60 days on new account, mine has been open for years now.
It takes 1-2 days after statement to show. Keep checking next couple of days.
It's always one cycle delayed, so the rewards for purchases made on the Dec statement won't appear until the Jan statement is available, and often takes a few days after that. A very annoying feature!
In general, most people see rewards points from Amex post with the statement AFTER the one which contains the purchase. However, this can vary due to the type of rewards (cash back, MR points, Delta miles, etc.) and whether or not you pay BEFORE the statement cuts. For your specific situation, I would recommend looking at the rewards summary information for each of your cards. There will be information about which points are "earned" and which are "pending".
For me, I have two MR points cards which will post rewards with the current statement if I pay before the statement cuts. If a purchase has not yet been paid, the points remain in "pending" status until the following statement. The same thing happens with my Delta Skymiles and Amazon cards.
My cashback rewards overview page has updated now. It was showing $0.00 available/$0.00 pending, but it now shows the rewards from my Dec statement purchases as available and the rewards from my Jan statement purchases as pending, which matches what you guys are describing. I should have known to just ask here first if I wanted accurate info. ![]()

I may be apping for this CC by summertime, glad you shared your experience with the rewards.
Seems a little strange how long it takes for rewards to post but it sounds like a great card though!

It's been fine as a card so far, tho my experince with it is only 2 mo's old. For me, it covers some good categories that my existing cards didn't, but with your lineup the BCP might be duplicative of your Navy More. Taking the AF into account, you'd get a gain of 1.4% on your first $6k of groceries each year (and you'd need to charge exactly $6k groceries to the BCP get the full additional 1.4%), and you'd get 6% back on streaming services. So it would be a matter of whether those gains come to enough to open a new card for you.
