I've frequently read that AmEx has this $25k "limit" before requiring a manual review/FR. However, I've also occasionally read that as long as you're under the $25k limit you can request an automated 3x CLI (i.e. if you have a $24.5k limit, you can request a CLI up to $73.5k without triggering a manual review). Does anyone know for sure which one is true?
Someone posted that they got an automatic CLI (by which I think they meant initiated by Amex) from below 25K to above 25K without a need for FR (or to be more precise, Tax Return verification) but I don't know about when the customer tries to initiate.

Yeah, I just read that thread. So we know for sure that AmEx doesn't require a manual review/verification for CLI's under $25k to above $25k.

It's tempting, but I rarely use my Blue Sky card as it is. I've thought about PCing to BCE or BCP, but most of my spending is concentrated on Ultimate Rewards (Chase/JPM) credit cards anyway, which I think are the best value. Additionally, my aggregate credit limit is nearing $500k, which is kind of ridiculous. I don't want to start getting declined for excessive credit limits.

Do you know anyone who has requested the CLI through a CSR? I'm not saying a 3X is inadequate in general, but if you're starting out with a relatively low limit, say less than 2k, a greater CLI percentage is justifiable.
