Amex Luv Button showing again...

So, it's been a couple of month since the luv button disappear.  Now it is back.  I still have 14 days to go until I hit that 6 month mark again.  Should I wait or should I request the CLI.  Should I double it to $10k limit?

Re: Amex Luv Button showing again...

where do I see the luv button? I have this Costco card for over 2 years now and i don't remember seeing any Luv button.

I am pretty sure my credit score has imporoved since I got the card so I guess i should be seeing the button somewhere.

If you go to the activity section, it's at the bottom by the inquiry button

Re: Amex Luv Button showing again...

I had my card for 4 months and asked for a 50% increase from 10-15. The button was still visible after that but for the past 2 months it does not appear. If i was you I would go for an increase if you are using the card a lot and if your income supports a higher limit. Don't be shy.

Mines showed up again too.  But here's what I've learned.  For me, the luv button appears two weeks in advance before I'm eligible for a CLI.  Not able to control myself, I hit the button anyway and get denied.  But, after two-weeks when my statement generates, magically I get approve for a CLI when I try it again.  I'll see if it works like that this time.  My statement generates on 4/10.

So they have never counter offered when they declined? Normally what % increase on your credit limit do you ask for when you hit the luv button?

Re: Amex Luv Button showing again...

Thanks guys,

I see the Luv button, I have been so ignorant about it. I thought someday I will get a auto CLI.

So before I proceed with the button, will it be a hard or soft inquiry?

[edit]

My appologies for asking OT question there.

I got approved for 12k from 6.1k

Soft actually not an inq at all so far as I can remember but they do peek at  your report all the time anyway. At any rate not a hard.

It always been approve or decline for me.  I don't think I ask for a high enough amount to get a counter offer if they were going to approve me.

I think that is what happening to me too.  In 2 weeks, it will be 6 months for me.
