Amex Security Key?

Does anyone else have a "security key" on their Amex account(s) ? Apparently I have one and I have no idea what it is, but I'd like to remove this option.  From what I can tell, its not something you have to have.

yes...I do. The security key is the 4 digits on the front of the card. I am assuming you have a charge product.
