@Anonymous wrote:Well the bad news is it looks like they wanted me to call because they tried to pull my frozen TU report. It is frozen for a reason as it still has like 4 baddies on it, 2 of which are only about 3 years old. I don't even know if I should bother unfreezing it to let them review because I don't see Amex approving me with a couple collections. Anybody think it is worth my time?
This is a bummer. I expected to be denied for recent inquiries, but It looked like Amex almost always uses EX. Just my luck, the one report of mine that isn't stellar is the one they want to use. I even called twice to ask if they would consider using another report and they said no both times. Oh well. I can't get too down on it. I will try for Amex towards the end of this year and I added 2 nice cards to my portfolio this week.
all is not lost, i got approved for AMEX Blue with 3 medical collections (4+ years old) and a judgement (5 1/2 years old) but no lates, Oldest card was 3.5 years multiple credit lines that were less than a year old. AAoA of about 15 months.
2 month later they also pre-selected and approved me for AMEX Zync.
NO NO NO LS!!! NO APPING!!!!
LS keep gardening, my walmart TU score was 714 which they pulled, yours is too low, and you have too many INQ's it will take time but you will get AMEX cards eventually. In a while they will be begging you to apply, just need to let INQ's drop off, and boost your score.
I know, I get that itch when I see approvals sometimes. lil slap in the face and i'm good...
Freeze lifted. Calling back to finish app. If they decline, any chance of recons with Amex?

Very slim but a member did recently have success with it. Fingers crossed!!

Only if you can show something they're looking at is incorrect or has changed. Can't really "schmooze" AMEX.....

Yeah, I guess I might as well try. I already sacrificed 3 hard pulls. Rep is processing it now. I am surprised that credit analysts are in foreign call centers too with Amex. I have been impressed though, they are very nice and their English has been superb.
Try NOW, because you already have several hits from other cards.
Stop typing, start calling. DO eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
AMEX owes you this card now after all this. If they don't at least give you the hard limit option I'm calling them myself!

Amex will only recon if their reasons for denial have been addressed. I've only read about 1 other triple pull here, and I don't think it was approved. They will do that if there's a question and you're borderline.
You may get lucky and they'll offer you a hard limit. My experience w/Amex is they don't like baddies. I apped for a CC w/them nearly 2 yrs ago and they denied me because I had a 9 1/2 yr old BK on my CR.
Have you seen their prepaid card? I think it's called "Make Your Move," or something like that. They say that after 6 mos, they *may* offer a regular Amex card. It's one way to start to build a positive history with them, which may position you for a CC with them in the future.

AMEX doesn't owe anybody after how they shut me down last time...............
