@flowfaster wrote:Does Amex care if an AU has horrible credit? My DGF went through a divorce that left her with an unpaid repo and 1 charge off. Her score is in the high 500s low 600s. Amex didn't bat eye at sending her a card. My credit ,while short is impeccable. Just wondering, I must be at a higher risk of FR or AA because she is an AU on my Blue Cash?
sorry if off topic
Nah. FR's typically come about when your expeditures don't match your reported income. At that point Amex can and probably will ask to see your tax returns to see if you're on the up and up so to speak.
Poor credit on an AU (or AC in their terminology), Amex doesn't care as long as you being the primary cardholder are still paying the bills.

Dunno I sort of expect to go through income verification with everyone I ask anything for, but I'm deep subprime anyway. Falsely reporting anything on an application is just too much risk for really no upside. There's easier ways to prove you're a good customer to Amex that don't involve possible fraud.

Opt in for their offers directly from their website. My SO did this and she received a preapproval for a gold a month later. She had never received anything before.

Haha, I was just kidding. I am too scared to even include fringe money that would invariably be given to me in addition to base salary. Too messy to document although I suppose if they show up on W-2s should be fine. Still too messy to add up if it's not a regular monthly thing.
Besides, you'd have to pay for all that expenditure in the end anyway.
It's not like it's free money.
