@yudeology101 When I called this morning and asked what the 7-10 days meant, the csr said it was declined and to wait for the letter. I'm ok with that....I just don't want any trouble or drama.....lol That card is my favorite card to use and I have alot of built up points on it. I meant to originally mention that I didn't ask for the 3x cli, I only asked for a 5k bump.
Well i didn't know you called and the CSR told you that it was denied...sorry to hear. I was denied for my 61day CLI, and the first CSR said to wait for the letter but i called the backdoor and they were able to go over the reasons w/ me....I did get the letter afterwards, but so far no FR initiated by AMEX yet. At the time of 61 CLI request, I had added 3+ new accounts, perhaps that was the reason for my denial.....anyways, I think you have nothing to worry about!
Yes, I checked for you and it's 6 months:
Date difference from Sep 5, 2013 to Mar 5, 2014
The total number of days between Thursday, September 5th, 2013 and Wednesday, March 5th, 2014 is 181 days.
This is equal to exactly 6 months.
This does not include the end date, so it's accurate if you're measuring your age in days, or the total days between the start and end date. But if you want the duration of an event that includes both the starting date and the ending date, then it would actually be 182 days.
Sorry to hear. Don't worry until it's time to worry...You're probably just fine. I tried for the 3x CLI a few days ago to go from 6K to 18K but got countered with a CL of 12.9k. I'm still happy to have learned about the Amex CLIs here. Good luck!

I'm sorry you didn't get the CLI. I have not gotten mine either but am stoked they gave me a high CL to begin with.
This may be old news....but just because AMEX doesn't approve a CLI request doesn't mean there will me a FR, AA or any other two letter abbreviation from them. Just means we haven't met their internal criteria for additional credit. No biggie. There's always next time.
Personally I wouldn't worry much about it right now. If it does happen, then I'm sure you'll be able to handle it when it comes. Why worry now, and if it doesn't happen, all the worry would have just stressed you out for nothing. As for having more credit than your income, I'm in the same boat, and there's others on the forum here as well with way more credit than their incomes. I'm even waiting for their new EveryDay Card to come out as well to add to my collection

+1.
No big deal, other than the disappointment of being declined. Amex hates me. I've been declined like clockwork every 90 days since I got my BCP, and I've had it almost 2 years now (May, '14). I've never had a FR or anything like that. I think they just don't like my SL debt - it's right at 100k right now.
ETA: Just to make sure I wasn't somehow operating under a delusional thought system, it's been just over 90 days so I tried again. Nope, still grounded in reality - another 7-10 day response from them, which in my experience has been an automatic decline. Oh well, I've relegated that card to the SD for some time, and I will PC to the regular BC card before the annual fee is due. I added my nephew and neice on as ACMs to establish their MS date when they turned 15yo - otherwise, I would just close the card.
Thanks for the replies! I know I can always count on myfico peeps to calm my nerves on these thing....lol People outside of here just don't understand! I didn't realize that some of you ask every 90 days.....I hope your cli's come through for you. I don't think my nerves can handle this feeling every 3 months! I'm a worrier.....can you tell? I will update when the letter comes in. I'm thinking it will either say I have too much credit overall or may be sensitve to the 2 new accounts I've opened in the past 3 months.

Well, I got the 7-10 day message.
7-10 isn't necessarily a decline. It may lead to an income verification.
EDIT: Ok -- in this case it was. Still, don't worry over stuff that may or may not happen. If it happens it happens.

But like others here, I'm scared I've set off some financial review
If it led to an FR you'd know as your accounts would already be frozen. If it leads to an income verification you have the option of declining the 4506-T and not getting the CLI and moving on. There's no refusing an FR. No sense in worrying over FR's a CLI denial doesn't automatically trigger an FR.

AmEx doesn't hate or like you. It's your credit. There's really no reason to expect them to suddenly approve you unless whatever they don't like about your credit has changed. They're not just going to approve because X days have passed.
