I am a no annual fee type of person so the EveryDay would be my recommendation. I got it a year ago with a similar score, 690ish. I have a decent grocery spend so the card works for me. If you do not shop at grocery stores much then another MR card may be better for you.

I'm not showing any preapprovals with amex. But i am looking for a rewards card. I have no problem with the prg being a charge card. I'm just wondering if you fine people think i should cold app for one of these two?
Scores 690's across the board
Avg age of credit 1.2 years
Inquiries in last 12 months on ex is 3.
1 30 day late from november of 2017
Overall util 20% due to no interest promos on two store cards (kitchens are expensive btw!)
Should i cold app? Or wait for some preapprovals?
LOL they sure are, so are bathrooms
Your 30 day late frightens me. Id be worried
I have the PRG and if you travel even a little, it's worth it.
3x on flights
2x gas, dining, groceries.
$100 reimbursement for airline incidentals.
I also have the everyday but am now thinking if I should have went for the Everyday Preferred since you get a larger bonus after 30 transactions a month. Everyone's habits and goals are different so you just have to find the one that fits your needs best.

I don't see why you'd want the PRG apart from churning the SUB. If that's your intention go to incognito mode and look for the 50k MR's
2 MR's for dining and groceries, 3 on flights for an effective $100 AF is not a good deal. The ED will be pretty solid though
The ED is a good card, but the PRG offers more than what you've pointed out.
Free roadside assistance for instance (how much is AAA?), and hotel benefits when booked through AMEX that you wouldn't get with the ED.
The ED is the best no AF card for infrequent travelers who utilize Delta, Hilton, Marriott, and Jet Blue (plus others).
It's also 2x for gas, groceries, and dining, and 3x on flights. The ED is simply 2.4x on groceries and 1.2x when the 20 purchases threshold is met.
This!
The PRG has way more rewards than the Everyday card. Unless you are someone who does consistent grocery shopping, I would not recommend the Everyday card and would encourage looking at AMEX's other options.
Good luck to you!

I agree with the folks who say the Everyday Preferred is the way to go if you're a moderate travler who doesn't care for the $100 annual fee credit. Earning 4.5x, 3x, and 1.5x on everything is pretty good @ $95 a year.
They're both pretty mediocre cards, though PRG is probably more likely to lead to an approval.
ED could be good for a light spender who wants to accumulate miles (and maybe offers) without concern about AFs or transaction frequency. But it's not always appropriate for light travelers to be earning MRs instead of cash. A lot of factors need to line up to get worthwhile value from MRs. It's easier to have great redemptions when you travel a lot so have a lot of potential opportunities.
PRG's strength lies in the fact it has high bonus caps (or currently no caps?). But unless someone will spend tens of thousands a year in the bonus categories, that feature is wasted. Apart from that, PRG is okay for a lot of things...but not really great at anything.
And roadside assistance is worth something...but in some areas the service speed can lag AAA due to having a smaller network. I have Platinum's roadside assistance and dropped AAA, but I live in a densely populated area.
