Re: Amex says no 0apr for my new card though it had when I applied

I just went to the amex website and selected the cash magnet which has 15month apr. I don't remember seeing any free apr promo declined. Amex says my card got declined for the promo apr but they have not given me the reason for that. Since i was not aware I trying to find out my options

Yes there may be a 15 month 0% offer right *now*, but that doesn't necessarily mean that that was the case when you applied. They had to have told you if you didn't qualify for the intro rate. Do you have your welcome packet/email still?

As it's been over a year since you signed up, your options are probably very limited.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't receive the 0% APR promo you were expecting.  Hopefully you're able to find some type of documentation that can help persuade them to reverse their decision.

I know this may not help you with this particular issue but I'd like to share something I do. I always take a screen shot of the offer I'm applying for and also I take one of my approval too. It helps give you a leg to stand on if you don't get what you were promised.

Of course hindsight is 20/20 and it's easy for me to suggest this now but try if possible to look at your monthly statements as soon as possible after they come out.  The sooner the better. Makes disputing things that aren't correct a lot easier.  Sorry again this happened to you!  I hope it all works out for you somehow!

You have no options here.  A year later is way too late to get Amex to make any kind of correction.  You should have been checking your statements.

Write it off as a learning experience.  Now you know.
