Another Amex question

Do you think it's wise to apply for an AMEX Gold card and BCP on the same day?

EX: 740

Income: 175,000

Re: Another Amex question

Not enough information.

Do you already have an account with them?

Amex's system if you already have an existing card with them (not an AU card) they wont do a HP.

My thought process:

Apply for the main card you want. If approved, apply for a second. If youre denied you wont be able to get any new cards for 30 days.

Re: Another Amex question

The charge cards were somewhat separate in the past. Not sure in the current environment. You used to be able to apply for a revolver and as many charge cards as you wanted on the same day as long as your profile and income supported it.

Amex's system if you already have an existing card with them (not an AU card) they PROBABLY wont do a HP.

Edited the above in boldface - HPs can and do still happen to existing members, and may be a little more likely for OP as a relatively new cardmember. SPs are still the predominant result but absolutes should be avoided.

@yoshee08  - Just something to be aware of, an HP can still happen even if you're already an existing AmEx cardmember.  While the majority of reported cases it's been SP, other DPs have also indicated an HP is still possible.

Re: Another Amex question

Little late to the party as you've already been approved, so congratz!

My contribution would have been "I don't know if it's wise" but I applied for the Gold charge and the Delta Gold same time as an existing cardholder so it can happen without any noticeable consequences.
