I dont think it would hurt to apply if your within the 12 months of having the Optima Card. If they deny you for that reason they wont pull your credit.

Someone should try to apply for the card.

I regret to inform you that, AS LONG AS you have the Optima Card during the 1st 12 months, you are inelgibile for any other AMEX cards or CLI. However, after the 12 months period, you can, and SHALL apply for CLI: as well as any other AMEX's products.  Atleast that what my letter stated.  Remember, the Optima card is a, "Welcome back, Get back in grace, be lucky we let you back in AMEX", type of card.  To the non-Amexers, the card had people's give me the card a double look, like the Zync card, (why did I upgrade from it). 

Just wait it out.  It will pay itself good rubles to you...;-)

Ive been hearing that Amex has loosened up on the 12 month waiting period. Im wondering if some applies and the waiting period does exsist if Amex will still pull credit?

anyone been able to get this even with a BK that included them? how could one get back in?

You have to be invited to apply. I had unpaid balance which I had to pay off to get the app. If you included them in BK then it is very likely that they won't let you apply. One of the conditions to approve this card after you pay the balance is, there shouldnt be any BK on the CR.

If you had included in BK a long time ago (think 10-15 years) then you can always try. If they decline you no HP but if they don't you have a chance to apply for say Delta Gold.

I tried applying for PRG just because I wanted to see what they say. It was instant denial which I kinda knew would happen. But I got 9 more months before I can CLI and hopefully apply for something again

What reason did they give you and did you check to see if they pulled credit?

Ive been hearing the Amex either has or will reduce the "waiting" period from 12 months to 6 months.
