No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I got approved for the Mastercard when I didn't have a FICO score. I only had 1 active account on my credit file that was open for 2 months. They pulled EQ and gave me a $500 starting limit.
I was approved last night for a USAA Plat MC, $11k CL.
Hope that helps.
Got this today:

Really? No secured card??
With all the other info you have received, they also take into consideration what accounts you have with them. I am a member with them but I am not applying just yet. I want more score to higher for a better chance of approval.
Accounts meaning, checking, savings, auto insurance, etc. etc.....
Good Luck.....

Thanks; I have with them home, auto, & life insurance, as well as a retirement account and checking account. One reason I want the USAA credit card is it is a prerequisite of you want to scan/email checks for deposit. My employer doesn't offer direct deposit.
I don't want to get denied, so maybe I'll just wait for my score to go up a bit more. I'm confused about their response to my secured card request. I have read other postings here where people claim to have a secured card.
Really. They don't offer a secured card?! I app'd a way back for the AMEX and was denied for too many inquiries. I called for recon (strong scores and existing cards) and was offered a secured card instead. I think it was a year back.
Weren't they running this as some sort of trial program a year ago? Seems like I remember a rash of threads, people trading fax numbers and all, and then it dried up very quickly afterwards.
I don't know if they abandoned it, or if they did a limited enrollment and they're tracking how well the people with secured cards were handling them...

Clearly your memory is better than mine! No way would I remember a thread from a year ago

You would probably get approved for one of their products.
If you are AD military, have a family member who is, or retired military you might also want to try a NFCU account as they are very credit friendly.

I have a weird memory. I remember old threads, but I have no idea where my hair clips went.
