A well informed and very reliable source here at myFICO confirmed it.
From a BK years ago to:

@CS800 wrote:Once you get your monthly score, the same score stays until it updates the next month. But it is visible and doesnt go away.
In your case i believe that since your account is closed, thats why you are no longer entitled to a free score.
I'm pretty sure that if you close your account you wont be able to get a score
My account has been closed since 2009. It was closed long before they started offering the score. I get my monthly score just fine. So no, a closed account doesn't bar you from obtaining your score. As long as you can log into your online account and select electronic statements you should be fine. It was probably a glich with the system at the time.
You're right. It was apparently just a glitch. Even though my account has been closed for a few years, I am still able to see my FICO score. Yay!

This is very frustrating. I am just discovering that after pouring a monthly contribution into this site for my scores only to discover they/FICO is not up to date. Especially compared to WM. I just called and asked FICO about their model only to be given a word dance, convincing me thay had something to hide regarding the TU 08. The rep gave me a script with Lawyer talk. I am not a WM CC holder and I am not going to apply just to get an updated/real score. I am in the business world and when we run credit for our clients we have the option of choosing 08' so it does have value. I religiously pull my credit through myFICO.com Hotpoint 3.15.2012 Trans 680 3.16.2012 Eq. 694 / Eq FICO 3.16.2012 Ex. 697 / Plus
The score you get from this site is used not often but you can pretty much guage your '08 score from it.
