Hello all, I went on a app spree applying for Barclay's Apple/iTunes card, Best Buy, Quiktrip, and Dillards cards. I was told to give Best Buy a call in which they verified my idenity with a few questions and then they told me that the app would need further review and that I will receive a letter within a week. Instead of a approval or denial for Barclays I received a phone number saying they needed to verify some more information and to call the phone number that was provided. It was after hours so I will call them first thing in the morning. Quiktrip I received a message stating I will be contacted within two weeks by mail. And Dillards simply responded with a they will send me a letter stating weather I was approved or not. My FICO for EQ is 714 and MY FICO TU is 702, I'm pretty certain that my EX is somewhere between those two. I have one baddie for HSBC as a charge off and is being disputed through Lexington, a bankruptcy from 2006, and a paid State Tax Lien. Everything else is paid as agreed and NO lates of any kind.
I was hoping that I would have at least got one automatic approval.... What do you guys think will be the ending result?

I think the BK may be hurting you.
I think Dillardss may be a fecline but the other 2 sound promising.
Thank you for replying LS, I edited the post to add in Quiktrip as well who responded online with "We will respond within two weeks"
I was approved for the Barclay's card... Horray. Before being approved I had to call 866-483-0683 in which I spoke with someone in security. After asking some particular questions to determine it was indeed me applying for credit he came back and said that I was instantly approved for $1,300. He asked me was that enough in which I responded that I needed $3,000. He then told me that he would have to transfer me to the credit department who after a credit analysis was performed could possibly lower my limit as well as raise it. He then said if they tell you that they are going to lower your limit at that time you must simply tell them that you would like to rescind the application for more credit and they would leave it at the original approval amount. He also told me that at this point there is no need to worry about being declined because your already approved. I thanked him before he did a warm transfer with a lady.
Once transferred I asked for my limit to be increased to $3,000 and they told me they would do a credit analysis (I think that was the term used) and asked some particular questions regarding my actual credit report. She asked about my bankruptcy and why it was filed along with an account that was settled for less than the original balance. I gave her detailed answers to both questions before she came back and said that she couldn't grant me the $3,000 limit that I was requesting but that she would give me $2,000. She then went on to tell me the reasons why were my bankruptcy and that I haven't had a minimum of two major credit cards open for a significant time. But in the end I'm happy. I hope this helps someone in the future and I'll keep you posted on how I fair with the other applications.
