I know I am supposed to be in garden mode, BUT I went into Apple and fell in love with a macbook pro . Came home and I know they never give instant approvals for anyone and if they are than you receive a low limit and have to call anyway. So, I apped.
Called a backdoor number, guy named ryan helped me out, asked a few questions and I was approved for 1500$. SWEET! Now for real this time, no more apping until at least next year!
Questions are:
1. Is this a store card or is this a visa card that I can use anywhere and not just at the apple store?
2. How long until I get a CLI? Hard or soft pull? Automatic?
3. Is the $1500 limit just for the purchase? Meaning will it be decreased after I pay it off? or at all?
4. Is this a keeper? Or just use it for Apple purchase and then close the account?

Congrats on the approval !! It's a regular Visa that you can use anywhere ~ it just has special financing terms if you purchase from Apple. Barclay's is good with CLIs, and even if you don't get much you could recon and ask for more, and possibly get it. For me they have always given a CLI when I have requested one. Always a HP on Transunion as well.
They shouldn't lower your CL unless you pay late or something crazy like that. Keep it open if you need the CL, or maybe to buy your next Macbook in a few years....
I always fall in love with iMac's and Macbook Pro's. But let me just say its a lot easier for me to just fall in love with a Dell XPS thats a few hundred dollars cheaper
Alienware
Apple rulz, I have an iMac, iPhone 4 and iPhone 3g, iPad 2, iPod reg and Nano I love MAC/Apple! I also bought my son a Liquid cooled Alienware computer!
I feel like I have stryed from the thread
Congrats!!!!

You can use the card everywhere but apple products get you 2 points per dollar whereas everywhere else gets you 2. Once you hit 2500 pts Apple automatically sends you a $25 gift card and starts all over. I opened my card in September and a few months ago I got a letter in the mail that my 1400 limit was auto increased to 2100 and they threw in 2 pages of convenience checks to go along with it and 3% promotion. The limit will fluctuate with your use of the card just like any, and for me its a keeper. No fee and Im strictly an apple user so the card is saved as my default card in my apple iTunes account, so far I've already received 3 giftcards and just a few hundred from my fourth.
This will be my first mac. I really hope my CL stays at 1500 because it is my biggest yet! I just hear too many horror stories with barclays.

Are you interested in adopting?
You've gotten gift cards?!
Aww. I see nothing about points on my account, and I have never received anything except interest free on my first Apple purchase. That's it, no other perks or anything. And Barclays was the first card to slash my limit when I had to short sale the house last summer. Now I have a job that pays 3x what I was making and almost no debt, yet no CLI from them. :-/

If you have the Apple Visa Finance Card Visa (White card), then you were able to get the 0% for 6 months or 1 year when you purchased your Apple products in the first 30 days of opening the account. I've heard that people occassionally get that offered again.
The Apple iTunes Visa Card (Black card) offers 2 points for every dollar spent at Apple/iTunes store, and then 1 point for every dollar spent elsewhere. Every 2,500 points earned and Barclays sends you a $25 iTunes gift card.
