Apple Card APR

Hello I currently have an Apple Card. I had a 795 Credit Score and got the card back in August and got the mid teir APR currently at 15.99%. I've been trying to see if they will look at my account and give me the better APR but they keep telling me we won't look at it you will hear from us if we have a better APR to offer you. Which seems weird. Normally you can call in and at least get a credit card vendor to check and see if you can get a lower rate just like you would call in and ask for a CLI. Anyone had suceess getting their Apple Card APR lowered? Not that I need one but what about CLI's? Can you not ask for those either?

Re: Apple Card APR

CLIs can be requested through iMessage or on call.

Some reps will say it's denied and say wait 30-90 days without putting the request in; if that happens then try again with a new rep. It is instant decision with notification by email, and that will let you know that they actually put your request through as well.

APR adjustments are not being considered at this time. It does move with the prime rate.

Re: Apple Card APR

Their APR should be the least of your worry. Why?

Because Apple card is not a good card to carry a balance on (or any 10%+ APR card for that matter). If you must, do a BT or app for a new card with a 0% intro APR).

And If you must "possess" a low APR card just for that sake then you need to look at CUs like AODFCU that offer rather low APRs than those big box banks.

Re: Apple Card APR

Correct I'm not interested in carrying a balance now but I've been cutting down on cards and it would be nice to have one with a halfway decent APR if I needed it. Plus it just didn't seem right that they wouldn't even look at the account just flat out we don't do that seemed odd. Thanks

Sometimes people need to carry a balance, even if for a short time.  It costs less in interest to carry a balance for a few months on an 18% APR card than it does for most balance transfers as they will generally have a 3% or higher fee on the full amount and there is a grace period for new purchases if the balance was previously paid.  Getting a new card solely to save a few dollars in interest isn't always the best long-term goal.
