Interesting though, wonder what their target is for consumer acquisition, might see it oscillate over time in smaller increments (since they're starting smaller) than the typical Amex/Chase/et. al SUBs.

I think that's rather judgmental on your part and you're jumping to conclusions without doing the actual research.  Name any other card* that gives you cash back for purchases, lets you use Apple Pay, or offers a signup bonus that doesn't have an annual fee.  Everyone knows that this is the only card without a $500 annual fee that offers any of that.

OK, I admit it.   As an Android loser, I try (and fail) to diminish the best card ever (indeed the best financial  instrument of all time) because I am jealous.    (When I tried to buy an iphone, the sales person looked at me, shook her head and said "I don't think so.   Buddy" in a vaguely menancing tone.)

But with or without me, the innovations keep coming.   A general use card where the spend for SUB has to be at a specific store!   Genius.

Three days ago was approved for the Apple Card, pull the trigger today at walgreens, and voila, it´s not the best sub, but I still applied without knowing about it, so it was very good!

I think this could be interesting for new apple cardholders
