Re: Apple Financing

I got approved for $1,700 from the Apple Financing card, and I only had two previous credit cards (American Eagle and Capital One) for about 7 months.

It's an easier card to get. You get your 0% APR offer upon signup, and they send them to you periodocally after that. For instance, I've completely paid off my MacBook Air, and they emailed me letting me know I had another 0% financing offer available.

I got a CLI on it up to $3,000, and called Barclays who moved $2,000 to open a Ring card, and left $1,000 on the Apple Financing.

It's not a bad card if you want in the door with Barclays, possible PC/credit limit split to another card/periodic 0% Apple financing.

Wow. Good to know. If you did it. How long did you have before you pced it?

I opened that card in Dec 2012 - and PC'd it this summer. I had called a few times (was told no) and then ended up contacting them via facebook; someone called me the next day and it was done.   G'luck!

You should never close a card.

While some follow that practice it's not a one-size-fits-all matter.  Closure immediately impacts utilization but not AAoA.

Utilization however can be affected if you have limited credit available

Utilization is always affected.  It's the signifance of the impact that can vary depending on the specifics.  One can do the before-and-after math to determine the impact.

I'd take a hot babe over a beautiful credit card any day.... Guess I just don't have my priorities straight.  It's all about what the card looks like eh?
