@iamrayl wrote:I joined nfcu a few weeks ago and I echo the sentiments of most nfcu members...they are great! I applied for navcheck today and the status changed to conditionally approved. They are asking for my last 2 paystubs and a bank statement from another bank which I faxed over to them so I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I was also approved for a CC with a 17.5k credit line when I opened my accounts with them. That was a pleasant surprise!
How is everyone getting approved so quickly while I've been waiting for days? I'm not too pleased with NFCU so far-especially since I opened a $4000 CD with them.
DonGonzalo,
What does your application status show?

It shows Review In Process.
Ok mine said that at first. You should give them a call. They are always helpful.

The first time I applied for a CC with them they took forever and then ended up denying me. Gave me all kinds of excuses and a runaround, told me that there was one specific person who was handling my application and she needed copies of my DL, SS card, etc. But she was never available when I called.
After that, it's all been good. But my initial experiences with them weren't that great eiither.
Good evening everyone,
I want to add that NFCU is the best financial institution my wife and I have ever delt with. At first when we opened our account 18 months ago they gave me a 12k CL for a cash rewards green card. After trying to get multiple loans they said no.... then one day I called in asking for a new 2011 f-250 king ranch, they said yes, 11% then 3 months later my wife and I applied together for a 2012 f-350 for 71k and she said I will call you right back, 15 min later at 11:45pm I get a text saying approved, your check is ready for pick up. I cant say any bad about this FCU. They have taken care of my wife and I. keep in mind all my scores are 600-615. I have had to pay a higher interest then everyone else but it was me in the end that messed up my credit. I would starve or eat rommen before I messed any thing up with them. GL
swpopham, at first I was wondering why the were willing to extend 12k unsecured but no car loan....then after I kept reading it was for a 40k+ car loan (I guess you were still looking for the same one 18 months prior). Glad to hear that they extended the loan to you, I was fortunate to have 2 seperate 20k (one co-signed) cars when I was in the high 500's. Also your income probably is playing a BIG part with NFCU and the 18months of credit use through them looks good!!! Keep it up.
Don, what did they tell you on the phone? Sometimes it is just sending items requested in. They extended me a line of 2k when I was making around 40k and fico scores in the mid 500's. I had been banking with them for around 4 years before applying though, are you a new customer? Need some extra info, thanks.
