Applied for a credit card from CCCU

Hi all Ive finally found a forum to guide me in the right direction and i thank everybody for that.

I used to have really bad credit once upon a time and i guess i have redeemed myself since my fico scores for this month show it. I have a very basic simple question if anyone could please entertain it i would greatly appreciate it.

I applied this week for a credit card from CCCU since it seems that they are great in the eyes of many on this forum so i gave it a try. its been about 3 days and no response and im sure they are busy people and will get to it soon enough.

what i want to know is when the inquiry is made and approved or disapproved does my fico score change accordingly? are approved inquiries different from diapproved or are they all the same.

i applied for the card because i have no credit card lines and figured that my lower scores would go up with proper use of the card.

my current Fico Scores are as follows:

Pulled from myFico on OCT 12, 2007
EQ 778
EX 750
TU 711

Pulled in December 06

EQ 529
EX 510
TU 515

i have two accounts that reported late back in 2004 when i left the military and was unemployed. i am typing up letters for each creditor to do a "good will" change and hopefully erase those two negatives. beyond that i have no negatives, and or collections or bankruptcys or stuff to that effect. thanks again to all that make this such a valuable tool to have. i wish knew about this place before i started ruining my credit.

Re: Applied for a credit card from CCCU

ruining your credit !????? i would kill for you scores. with your scores as long as you have an income i would think you would be a good match for them. also justice federal credit union was very generous to me today. just don't go app crazy.

as for scores before and after. you may see a slight drop, but should gain it back (plus some) with just a little age and always reporting 1-9% utilization.

let us know how the app at cccu turns out. also since it's been a coule of days and tomorrow is friday i would call.

welcome and good luck!

Great work there, nice post also. I finally heard from CCCU, dam issue with Chxsystem because of so many apps, lolSmiley Happy Expecting for them to finally issue card to me. Recently applied to NasaFCU got it CL 2000, could be better be I'll take it. Also applied with JFCU waitng for response from them. They called my job today to verify my employment, so all seems fine there.

Re: Applied for a credit card from CCCU

What are the requirements to apply for JFCU. My fico scores are TU 636 , EX 648 , EQ 639. I have a really good income. I do have few inquiries though. What CRA they pull from?

Thanks

mine was/is 652 eq, 1 paid collection for 330 from '01, about 12 accounts in the past year and all the hards that go along w/them.

the way i joined was to become a member of the national sheriff's association 35.00 annual fee (anyone can become a member). with the e-mail confirmation and nsa member id # you are ready to join jfcu.

just print out and fill out the app., send in with notorized copy of dl , copy of nsa membership confirmation e-mail w/id number, and deposit to open checking or savings account.

i did the above, but i also included pay stubs with a note indicating i wanted to obtain an nsa visa card. the rep called and it resulted in two pulls on eq (one to set up the savings account, the other for the visa app), but i got a 25K visa to show for it.

op, sorry about the thread jack.

forgot to mention that the rep asked me what limit i wanted to app for. he said if i go high and get declined then it was a flat no, but if i went low i could accept what the max amount the approval came back for.
