Authorized User

Does anyone know if it is true or false: if you add someone as an AU to your cc acct that is in good standing it will boost the AU credit?

And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: Authorized User

Yes this true, but the big three credit bureau are working on changing that affect. So far one of the three has been able to prevent that affect from happening and by the mid 2008 the other two will follow.

FICO 2008 has not launched and I suspect it won't for some time. AU accounts are alive and well in FICO scoring.

Re: Authorized User

From what I've read, the CRAs will still report AUs even after FICO 08 goes into effect.  In other words, they will still be on your CR but it will just not factor into your score.  If the AU accounts are no longer on your reports you may want to contact the CC companies and ask why they are not reporting.
