Auto Amex CLI - I don't like it!

I just hit my six month anniversary with my Amex Blue Cash and they upped my CL from 11K to 12.5K. I was planning on waiting a month, my FICO is going to go up about 10-20 points I suspecct, before asking for a total CL of 15K or 16K.

Does this auto CLI hurt my chances of asking? Do I have to wait another six months??? Has this happened to anyone else? I'm assuming I might not have to wait since I didn't request the CLI. Thoughts?

The Auto CLI does not DQ you from requesting one.
I would have to say you should wait a bit though-

That is an average annual increase of nearly 25%, and they will have looked at your EX CR a few times.  I would wait until the first anniversary rolls along and see what they do then

And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding

Wait for my first year aniversary? Errrhh -- this stinks. You make sense, but I use this card so much and was hoping for a little bit more....however, am I required to wait another six months before reusting a CLI since the auto or simply walking a fine f/r line by requesting one at this point?

Re: Auto Amex CLI - I don't like it!

I think you can ask for one today.

But looking at it from the CCCs point of view - they have just studied your financial situation and given you a deserved increase.  What has happened since then to make them give you more?  Smiley Very Happy

I just wish my salary would go up over 11% every 6 months  Smiley Wink

Good question. I think that's my problem with the auto cli and my seemingly decreased opportuntiy to ask for an additional CLI. My income has gone up significantly, I got a 15% pay raise and my util has down from 22% to 11% recently, but still not fully reporting (they don't know those two facts). Hence, I wanted to wait one more month before asking for a 4K CL.

Hehe---I know, I know...I'm being abnoxious! Smiley Happy

I think the reason they give me the CLI was due to my new CLs on my other CCs...they are all at 15K, but one, which is at 12.5K.

I have had a promotion and a increase in EX score of over 50 points since I got my Amex.  But I am not expecting much on my 6 month anniversary,

And I am afraid that I can't put any more money through my cards than I do already  Smiley Sad

That stinks...I hope you get pleasantly suprised! On another note, I never realized Amex does auto clis...I don't often hear about them!

I think they occur at one tenth the rate of auto FRs  Smiley Happy

Re: Auto Amex CLI - I don't like it!

I've never even had an AMEX card but from what I have heard they do not use current tax year info. While you might have more income now it might not mean much. Some people swear by this company but I don't want the hassle of having to deal with denied charges and financial reviews. I got my review when I opened Penfed. After the fact seems a little wacky to me.
