NICE! 10K! that's huge! Well, you might want to try a CU. I bet you'd do better then the finance charges from the jewelry card.
yeah, aww the benefits of being poor and married with kids! LOL! but i do love my total rewards visa! I'm planning a trip to vegas next year and this card just made sense to get...i had to recon to get it but commenity bank is easy to deal with....i just told the lady i was plannin a vegas trip and BAM! she approved me...no joke that easy. it earns freeplay now too! plus 10,000 points after you spend 750 in the first 90 days!...thats $1,000 free play!
!!!!! I've been looking at that card for a while! It's a good looking card too! I love Vegas! Well... when you go... I wish you the BEST of LUCK! If you want to share a bit of your profile, I'm sure we can alll come up with a solution to getting rid of the extra finance charges on the ring. BTW.. I love going to Harrah's Casinos. I'm in East TN and there is only one near here. LOL.. Damn!

Depending on how much money it is costing you in interest each month, it might be worth it for the HP. For example, I want my credit to be excellent, but at $200 a month in interest, I am willing to sacrifice some of my score to rid myself of that interest charge.
Also - not everything in a credit decision is about scores. Sure, 750+ will get you far in the credit card game, but that doesn't mean you will be guaranteed approval. Likewise, significant income/assets and a high 600s score might get you pretty far with a lot of companies. Any other information you want to throw our way to help us help you? Scores, income, AAoA, baddies, existing cards and their balances...
hi snacktrader, my scores are in the 620's across the board, my AAoA is just over 2 years(went on an app spree three months back), my income is $31,000(hey! in bama that's decent...lol) only one 60 day baddie on car, and one $134 6 year old dentist bill(collection from divorce from 1st wife....yeah she cancelled my insurance...had no idea for years this was on there)
planning to pay the collection with my next bonus check(aug 1)

Harrah's is the best! thanks for the luck! OH AND THIS IS A GREAT LOOKING CARD(ITS HEAVIER AND THICKER THAN MOST TOO....HAS ORANGE LETTERING AND SIDES) CALL'EM UP AND GETCHA ONE!LOL ![]()
LOL!!! Don't tempt me! I really want it!!!! I have to stay in the garden for a few more months. I'm not really worried about AA from Barclays but it doesn't hurt to stay in the garden for a few more months and let the recent HPs age a little.
On another note... do you bank with a CU? They are more likely to get you that installment loan you want to pay off the card. Also, the interest rates on the CCs at CUs are a lot lower. I got my CU VISA with a 620 FICO. MIght want to check into it. I think if you don't have a banking relationship with Chase, I'd hold off on apping for the Slate or Discover. How old is the 60 day late with the car loan?
