No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I would also suggest that you work on your credit scores..my experiences with all card companies and banks is that when your scores increase...your risk decreases...whether that is real or not, who knows..but mid 600's is risky...i had a hard time getting anything over $5,000 in the 720's...i think you have done great for where you are...also my latest feelings about banks is that you need to have more banks that you have credit with and not soo much with one bank or the other.. when and if things get bad in the economy, some banks will AA you very quickly and not because of your own actions ....just limiting their risks...diversify!!!! if i might add, no more store cards.. you have enough...STILL LEARNING MYSELF
@Anonymous wrote:I apped for a CLI 2 weeks ago and was denied due to high balances on cards , now I have only a $3200 cap one and all others PIF , and now my util should be about 8%
Have your credit reports been updated to reflect your new balances and utilization? If no, wait until your credit reports have been updated.
What is the CL on your Cap1 credit card that's carrying a $3200 balance?
SN: Going forward, I would take the actions you took after requesting the CLI beforehand. It will help to maximize your approvals.

@Anonymous wrote:That is true , I am just here like everyone else trying to build myself and credit up , I see alot of people who post they got this and that with BK , I dont have any BKs, and also lower scores than I have , I am trying to do what everyone else is doing and build up a great credit history and line .
Totally understandable
But every situation is different. No one here went from 0 to 100 in the credit world overnight. I kind of shot past a few obstacles in the beginning but thats more due to lack of patience and my general stubborn nature than anything. For most here time and patience lead to a great credit profile in the future.
Well said!

Everyone started some place. You have to be patient. It's not always stated here because we seem to have a "I want it now mentality!" Patience goes a long way and will help you achive your goals.
I think if you would have waited and allowed your credit reports to update and possibly taken another HP, you may have received a different outcome. I think your focus should be on getting your utilization down the old fashioned way by paying down/off your balances. Are you carrying balances on credits cards that you are paying interest? This is never a good idea. IMHO, I think you may need to spend some time in the rebuild forum. Best of luck!
@Anonymous wrote:I am still new to all of this and appreciate your time and answers to helping me understand all this mumbo jumbo . I just figured if they looked in their system they would see that the balance was paid off .
While you are waiting, I really feel it would be beneficial for you to spend some time reading through threads under "Rebuilding Your Credit" and possibly "Understanding FICO Scoring." Best of luck!

Ah, so the only balance you paid off was with Barclay? None at other lenders?
Even so, a lender will often score you based on what is on the most recently-pulled report, even if their internal; system has more up-to-date information.
This little fact can be maddening for us borrowers..."Hey, if you have newer information, why the heck don't you use it?!?"
It's just one of those things where the lending world is not always rational from the consumer's perspective. It is what it is.
OP if you paid the balance off and asked for CLI, they should see that in their system and make decision accordingly.
2 days after i PIF, I asked for a large CLI due to renovations and they approved..
But i guess it differs for every situation, GL.
Edit: they would only see it if they were the creditor with whom you paid off the balance with and were asking for CLI. for me it was Barclays also
Hi Shooting,
Wow! I didn't realize you can have that many cards with Capital One! Do you have the same card twice?
Just curious! I have 3 with them and I was thinking I should close one or combine 2 together before applying for another card!
May I ask how long did it take you to get those 5 Cap One cards?
@Anonymous wrote:No , I threatened them to close the account if I couldnt get a CLI , sorry if I typed it wrong .
Seriously? I haven't gotten a CLI on either of my Barclay cards and my Fico scores are about 100 points higher than yours.
