BOA Recon?

Got my decline letter today (app for BOA Plat Plus).

.....'unable to approve'....'current or past delinquency'.....'public record'

The delinquency is a CA account that had darn well age off my reports by next month.
The PR is my foreclosure.

I'm going to try a recon. Should I use PFB or mail it? Both?

edit- NO ONE has ever questioned the PR on my report before this. Wondering why BOA is doing so.

Re: BOA Recon?

Never wrote to BOA for a recon. I had my cc reopened after calling and getting denied again and hanging up and then calling again. BOA is one of those you hang up and call back until you get what you want.

Can you do that to request a CLI with them too, or does it register somewhere that you already made that request?

Re: BOA Recon?

Anderson, sorry to hear. Smiley Sad

I too was declined for the same cc in November. But I was immediately made a counter offer for their Visa Platinum Partial Secured card. it's the 99/500 card we call it.

Were you made that counter offer?

I kindly suggest you do not apply for any cc's until the CA is deleted from your CR's. Good things happen when you have no collections on your CR. Just my opinion. Take it with a grain of salt.

Re: BOA Recon?

Hi Syl-
No, no counter offer but would not do the secured anyway.
Not really discouraged about this, guess the purse strings are being tightened, but I did do a recon via PFB.
Good suggestion Smiley Happy don't really need more credit.

Re: BOA Recon?

I think you've hit the nail on the head. All the prime cc's are tighetning up, awaiting the avalanche being caused by the mortgage meltdown.

With my scores, I'm keeping all my cc's squeaky clean with 5% utilization, and paying WELL in advance of due date.

I'm waiting for the 8 second ride, and the ensuing fallout.

Yeah, Bank of America, what a bank, haha. I had a Plat. Plus Card from them, once my intro rate expired, they felt the need to up my APR because I carried a balance. Then I transferred the credit limit to my Merrill+ Card Smiley Happy.

Re: BOA Recon?

ChaoticKinesis - no you cant with a cli bc they do keep records of that... i've tried Smiley Happy you can only call and try to get a supervisor to review your account. I've been told by a boa rep that they dont do manual reviews but like I said you gotta just hang up and call back
