Re: BOA Secured Graduation time frame

I believe when I signed up it said it will be evaluated for graduation after a year.

Yes, 1 year is the "standard" automatic graduation to unsecured. Mine said that as well, but I called and got it unsecured at around 8 months. 4 months is too soon, I think 6 months is the earliest to try. When I called to unsecure I asked for a CLI & rewards and was told no. If you request a CLI it will be a HP, so I never did. March 1 I got an auto CLI from the $300 secured limit to $1800, tht would be around 20 months from my secured app. So I called again and asked about rewards, and was told I qualified for the card to be upgraded to a Cash Rewards card, I said, Yes, thank you!

Try more like 6-7 mo even a year....

Many have had luck under a year.....

4 months is way too soon. That's a blimp on the radar. I'd wait 7 months at least then ask. You can get cash rewards added at anytime though if you don't already.

BoA will tell you they will review your account after a year but I had my regular AmeriCard unsecured at 9 mos with CLI from $500 to $1600 and my Cash Rewards unsecured 10 months with CLI from $300 to $500. I'd wait a little bit longer. I think they do periodic reviews every month or so.
