I chatted today with BOFA and they informed me that my BOFA Cash Rewards HRC Visa is not eligble for an EMV Chip, isn't this a bit sketchy? I thought by this autumn EMV was the future.

Its their choice whether or not to issue it. If there is fraud they will be on the hook effective Oct 2015 not Visa or MC International.

But it will get EMV in the next couple months. The affinity cards (HRC, WWF (world wildlife fund) and others) will take a bit longer to upgrade. They will get them though.
I'm not sure I understand that last post, are you saying my HRC card should get it within the next couple of months OR that it will take LONGER than a couple of months?
Thanks in advance.

We'll get them from BofA Affinity cards when we get them
I'm waiting both to see what happens when my alumni AMEX is replaced in October, since the alumni relationship goes away, as well as to see when the EMV chip might show up.
October is the deadline so they will either issue the EMV chip or discontinue the card. The chances that a major bank would be themselves at risk to take losses is pretty minute.
