Just curious for those who have cards with BOFA, if you have received "auto CLI's" from them.
Were they random? Was it at an interval stage in having the card like at a year?
I have the Cash Rewards Plat version card with a $1.5k cl. 1/12/17 will be my "1 year" of having the card.
The Blue CLI button is on my account, but Im in the garden, and not stepping out for that. Was just curious on auto cli's at this point. I put about $300 a month on the card with a $1.5cl, and PIF before the statement cuts, and my TU score has increased 16pts since card opening.
Just curious at the one year mark, if people have received auto's at all.
Thanks ![]()
My card hit one year at the end of April. I did not get anything on my Cash Rewards. My CL is $25,500 and only spend about $1000 on it a month up until a few months ago.

LOL..probably with a high CL like that, I bet auto's are far and few between unless youre maxing it out. Id love to have my limit just to $10k someday![]()

I think the limit had something to do with the lack of auto luv. Heavy use and you should be able to get yours up there...may just require a HP or two.

I have the CR from BOA, received an auto cli around 9 months, from 6.5K sl to 9K. Didn't use it much, a couple small bt"s that I paid down. Got the cli button, took the hp to double my cl to 18K. (I think I left some on the table, too). Got the button again, 100 days later, but holding off till next year. Hope to combine three cards into one!
I have never received an auto CLI from BoA. From what I've read here, they don't happen very often.

@If a credit profile supports it pizza, BoA can be very generous with CLIs. My CL was @ $10K within a year for the same card. Of course, I took a HP but it was worth it for me. We use our card a lot. Wait until you're ready to come out of the garden, then ask for it. Good luck!
ETA: Like others, I've had success in lowering my APR without any issues. They also offer your standard balance transfers with a direct deposit option which is nice.

Yes, I did get an Auto CLI between 12 and 13 months after opening the account.
I had never asked for a CLI prior to that.
I had a 500 SL and it went to 2k.
It happened as I was logging out of an online session. At the previous closing for the month, I had made a payment of about 100 on a balance of about 150. A couple days later, I made another payment of 30. Just before the closing date, I made another payment of 20 taking the balance to zero. I always wondered if they rewarded me with a small CLI of 1500 because I tried so hard to PIF.
I am going to hold out for at least a year before asking for another CLI to see if I can get another auto.
I cant explain it very well, but INQs seem to be pretty precious to me right now. I have a total of 14 right now.

I agree. I find BofA to be an incredibly generous lender, but in my experience you do have to ask, not expect auto. I've had my BofA Cash Rewards for 4 or 5 years now, so I can't remember for sure if I ever got an auto CLI in the early days, but I don't think I did. That said, they've always approved anything I've requested. I believe I started with around 5K, asked for a CLI to 10K around the 1 year mark, then about a year ago requested another $7.5K. So now I'm up to $17.5K and honestly can't imagine ever needing, wanting, or requesting more. I've also requested APR reductions a couple of times (even though I always PIF) and have gotten them with no trouble. I'm delighted with Bank of America personally, but yeah, you do have to ask IME, not wait for autos.
My card is at $5400 from $2300, that was my only HP request from them. It started out as a 99/500 card, at around a year (a year to 14 months, I don't recall exactly) I got an auto CLI on my card of $300, then I kept getting them about every 4 months. When it hit $2300 I requested my first to $5400, and there it has stayed for 2 years. At least for me the requested CLI cancelled any future auto LUV.
Oh and as far as usage? I put between $20-100 usually through the card, some months as hight as $300 but that's rare. I don't worry about utilization or reporting, I've always just PIF before the due date. YMMV, as you can see based on other replies
