Re: Backdating amex cards

@creditballer...I really want it now, but I just can't afford the inq or even worse denial....This is as high as my EX has ever been and they AR me at least 3x per month....I tried the prequalifier; no offers.

Why do they AR so much?

Re: Backdating amex cards

Why is applying for January considered maximum backdating? I thought if they only considered the year only then it makes more sense to apply in December.

AAoA: 4y 7m
Lowest limit: Chase Freedom Visa - $13,000

Example 1st card approved 12/2012

Backdated card would show month applied and year of first so 2nd card would show

01/2012

Feb 2/2012

Mar. 3/2012

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Backdating amex cards

OH so you mean subsequent cards should be applied for in January. So next month is a good time to apply for the first Amex to secure 2013...is that correct?

Re: Backdating amex cards

Greetings! I've been reading about backdating, and this is what I did. I've had BCE card awarded to me in June 2013; and an AMEX True Earnings card, which I was just priviledged to get two weeks ago. AFter reading the posts about backdating, I went online into my BCE account and engaged a online chat person, and said, "Hi! I was jes curious ... I had an account with Amex back in 1983 that was closed ... do you all link the accounts membership date?" and she replied, "I can request the memberbership date change, if in our records we find that date to be true, then replacement cards will be sent .... do you want me to file a membership date update request?" And I said, yes. And voila, I got two emails stating that replacement cards were being shipped, and when I went online to both accounts the "member since date" was amended to read, "1983."

I had called prior to this incident, but when I spoke with a CSR, she explained that she couldn't find the records further than 15 years. Sorry, I couldn't be helped.

Online? Smooth ... and results. Thanks, for letting me share. O and just so you know .... back in '83, it was closed due to a chargeoff.

Re: Backdating amex cards

All 4 of my Amex cards were backdated to 1991, they were able to find me because I kept some old mortgage documents that had my partial old account number from the lenders tri-merge report.

Re: Backdating amex cards

Does this work for all types of Amex cards?

I was thinking about apping for the

PenFed Premium Travel Rewards American Express® Card

since its at 9.99%

I have a Visa with them w/ a $20k limit and a personal loan, unsecured fir $21k, now at $18k.

They just sent a preapproval for $50k new car loan.

Does Amex handle the issue date or would it be PF in this case?

Would there be a better card?

I am interested in the lowest rate and best CL I can get.

Fico ranges from 770-790, 6% util.

I am mostly doing this for AAoA.

I dont want to get the PF Amex and then PF not backdate.

I have a Amex biz platinum card that I got in 2010 and recently got backdated to 1981!

It doesnt report to my personal though.

I am hoping they will use the same date (1981) when I get whatever Amex card I can.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Re: Backdating amex cards

Only cards actually issued by Amex work for this, not ones, like Penfed, that just use the Amex network.
