Bank of America Question

I absolutely love Bank of America and how they treat me.

In the past month, I've gotten 2 CLIs and one new card all off the same hard pull!  Now, my question:  I just logged on to my account and in the "information" section of my new card (1 day old), the "request a credit line increase" information is there?  Has this happened to anyone here before?  How could that be?

Re: Bank of America Question

I have the same on one of my cards.  In the opening page, I have the "Request" line avaiable.  I'm at my limit with BOA, so, no sense in hitting the button.

It is unlikely to be a SP CLI. If you follow that link, it likely says "a credit report will be requested".

You are free to do so, and depending on where your total CL is with BofA, it may work out well.

I recently got a SP CLI, but that was through a special offer that appeared after I logged out of my account, and said "no credit report will be requested". The HP request is often available within your account page.

Re: Bank of America Question

You can request a CLI whenever the link is there, but the link being there doesn't mean the CLI is pre approved or anything. I'd just leave it alone since they've already granted 2 CLI and a new card in the past month.

Yes, this. It is rare to have a SP with BofA. That is where I do my banking and have a car note and three credit cards. I am very happy with them. They really helped my when I was rebuilding. Good luck to you if you do decide to pull the trigger.

What Kdm says is on point. Ive learned my lesson after getting 2 hp cli's withinin 6 months on a new card, 3rd time was not the charm. All depends on your internal limit but also of mind not to push too hard on a new cardSmiley Happy

I agree, Joe. It is also good to remember that most of us on the boards are more aggressive with CL's than the average credit card holder.Smiley Happy Concentrating on good usage makes a CLI more likely.
