I recently saw that BofaA has stopped doing hard pulls on CLIs. I have the BankAmericard that started out as secured card with $300. It graduated on time and I took a HP to request a CLI for $2500. They countered with 1100 and I accepted. That was a few months ago. Ever since graduating I have never seen the LUV button even once the implementation of the new no hard pull CLI. So I have a few questions.
1. Are previouly secured cards exempt from increase?
2. If I product change to a different card will that change the "card bracket/bucket" Im in?
3. What cards ARE available to get CLIs at BofA?
4. If you call in and request a CLI is it still not a HP?
If I cant do anything with this card I may consider closing it because it is essentially useless. I was a builder card and my current oldest card(might have to sock it)
Thanks for any insight!
I only have insight on your first question - My card started as a secured card $500 deposit/$500 CL. I opened it 4/2014. Received the deposit back 8/2016 CL went to $2500, 8/17 CL to $5500. Both of the increases were auto, I did ask for an increase last month. Asked for $10K and was instantly approved. I personally don't think the card is bucketed.
When did you open the account? What were you scores when you requested the $2500?

The button usually comes back about 3 months after your last CLI.
1.) No.
2.) No; as far as I am aware, BoA doesn't bucket cards/accounts over time.
3.) All of them.
4.) There have been no reports of HPs for CLIs since the new policy began.

I was in the same situation as you are back in 2015. Had a 99/500 card opened June that year. Although it got completely unsecured in 6 months, it never saw a CLI in a year so I decided to app for a new Cash Rewards then closed and combined the limits on the 2 cards. That CR card now has an $11.5K limit.
You obviously has 2 choices;
One, to wait it out and hope for a CLI on your current card, or two, app for a new one then close/combine CL on another card.
I didn’t care much for HP and New Acct (AAoA) back then that’s why I took the latter option.
YMMV and the decision is obviously yours to make.
Best of Luck and please keep us posted.

Is this your primary card? Can you give a few data points? Just curious on how you were able to get a 10k increase.

You can call in a request a cli. It shouldn't be a hp as no one has reported a hp yet since the implementation of this new policy. Your scores are good, if your income is good I believe you'll have a good shot. I dont believe you get bucketed per se with Boa and if the card is a credit card and is from Bank of America they qualify for cli when qualified. Good luck
Ok thanks... wasnt 100% sure if you could call in. Most of the post on here were saying they had the button show up and thats how they requested thier CLI.

Nice! Have you tried for a CLI since the new policy with any luck?

Just an example I have that button still showing and I can push it til I'm blue Boa wont give me any more. I always say if you are eligble for one theyll give it barring you meet their requirements. With over a year since your last increase I'd think you can at least ask.
