Barclay Apple Visa CLI and Then CLD

**bleep** Barclay, approved at 2k then CLI to 4k Then combined with Barclay MC  to total of $7500.00 CL .

Then I get a Letter saying they have Reduced my CL to $5,500.00 which I have $5,200.00 sitting on the card on a 0% balance transfer. ugh

No big changes in Credit score  or balance changes, but have Added some new accts ........... here's their reasons

1) Length of time revolving acct have been est

2) Serious delinquency and public record

these where on my report when I got the Card ....

Re: Barclay Apple Visa CLI and Then CLD

Ive experienced that with Barclays before. I closed my Apple Rewards Visa and moved the limit over to SallieMae, then a few months later they balance chased me on the SallieMae card reducing my limit to the balance on the card.

I called them up, they were not very nice to me but after a lot of back and forth they reinstated my credit limit. Sorry that happened. You can try calling them, just be ready to explain anything and everything they may want from you.

Appears they might be balance changing you as stated above.... Barclay's is a bit weird they want you to use BT's as they hand them out like candy, but when some people use them they penalize you are slash you CL and cause a person score to tank due to being maxed on a card.. Not cool Smiley Sad

Re: Barclay Apple Visa CLI and Then CLD

When they balance chased me my fico score was actually 52 points higher than when I got the card due a collection finally coming off.

If nothing in your profile really changed, then I think you should definitely call them or call them either way. they did tell me that I have more cards than some people do in a lifetime, but blah blah eventually taken care of lol

Re: Barclay Apple Visa CLI and Then CLD

This is typical from Barclays. They give you the money, but it is not intended  for use.

Re: Barclay Apple Visa CLI and Then CLD

I haven't experienced this with Barclay (yet). Next to Synchrony, they are the other strange beast in the wild that can be unpredictable at times.

Sorry to hear they are balance chasing you. I don't think I'd react as well as some people have on this forum when it comes to those types of things happening.

I won't touch a Barclay's BT with a 10 foot pole. This is an example of why. They give you the rope, then they hang you with it. Sorry to hear of your bad experience!

Re: Barclay Apple Visa CLI and Then CLD

This is smart on their part.  If they can tank your credit score, they know you're less likely to apply for another 0% APR card at a competitor and BT the balance away from Barclays.  They make $$$.   And yes they were on the grassy knoll too.
