Barclay Card Pre Approval Help?

After Months of checking the Barclay Pre Approval site, I finally received a "Congratulations" Message on their World Mastercard.

I  just opened a Walmart Discover Account a couple of weeks ago, but my oldest account is only a little over 8 Months old(secured).

No baddies, Fico's in low 700's, and one fresh hard inquiry.

Anybody ever had success with Barclay pre approval site?  Thanks

Re: Barclay Card Pre Approval Help?

I had preapprovals - arrival and ring. I'm not ready for an arrival + card yet, but I needed a new laptop as mine crapped out on me last night and figured I would get the Apple Visa. I was approved I'm usually buying something new from Apple once a year, so now I could use it for those purchases. So, my guess is if you have preapprovals, your chances are good!

NPSL............... $20,700........... $15,200.......... $5,000............ $15,000............ $20,000

Re: Barclay Card Pre Approval Help?

I got the congrats to apply and then was denied, your scores are a lot stronger than mine were at the time. They said I was denied due to recent new credit.

How recent?

I had applied in February 2014 and newest cards were a Discover IT obtained in November 2013 and a BankAmericard obtained in December 2013...

Re: Barclay Card Pre Approval Help?

Barclays doesn't like multiple recent HPs

I also hear that they will SP you for 6 months sometimes and cancel your credit if you are trying to load up.

When I get done gardening... Might be a year =(, I'm going to apply for the Ring if my score is back up there... If I get it, straight back to the garden for 6 months, lol...
