So right before I app'ed for and received CSP earlier this week, the above mentioned came in the mail. I always said I want nothing to do with Barclay's, but I'm slowly starting to change gears. My question is should I answer the mailer for the above card, or cold app for a higher end card like their Arrival WMC. My mail concern is if I was approved for the Rewards M/C I'd end up with yet another low (<4K) limit, which I don't really want or need. That's why I was thinking of app'ing for the Arrival in hopes I might score a higher CL with that particular card if approved. Any thoughts? My current cards and limits are below:
Discover It-$6K ll Wells Fargo Visa-$6K ll USAA Cash Rew. Visa-$13K llChase Sapphire Prefereed-$5K ll OCCU Beaver Visa-$1.5K ll AMEX Green-NPSL ll Macy's- $2.5K ll Wal Mart Discover/GECRB-$2K ll Chase/BP Gas-$500 ll Sears/Citi-$2k ll Pay-Pal Smart Connect/GECRB-$2.5K ll Best Buy/Citi-$4K ll Sportsman's Guide Visa-$7K ll Coldwater Creek M/C-$4.5K ll Credit Union Visa-$1K ll FNBO AMEX-$3.5K ll Chase Freedom-$1.5K
How many new accounts and inqs do you have? Barclays is very inq sensitive.
The arrival WMC can be less than 5k but if I'm not mistaken the Arrival+ WEMC is 5k+ which makes it WE, like Visa Siggy, right?
FWIW, DH had gotten a couple of Rewards pre-select mailers from Barclays. He apped this week for the SM, and he got a $6,300 World MC. He had low inquiries, maybe 1 or 2 on TU. His UTL was a bit high -- 22% overall and 55% on one card because of a 0% balance transfer we have on the Slate. His CLs have been much lower until this week when he got that and an even higher limit with Amex -- highest before that was $2000. He had not apped for anything for a while.
@Avada...: 5 new accounts in the last 6 months and 4 inquiries on TU.

I would wait for those accounts to age a bit. YMMV but most people get denied by Barclays with less new accounts.
